Attention All Microsoft Internet Explorer Users
Only a few weeks after Heartbleed hit the Internet by storm, a new vulnerability to nearly all versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer was exposed. The vulnerability could allow a hacker to take complete control of an affected system.
The U.S. Computer Emergency Readiness Team (US-CERT) advises users to load a patch issued by Microsoft, or consider employing an alternate browser. For those with Microsoft Internet Explorer set to automatically update, no action is required.
Please note that while this vulnerability is outside of Ledyard’s systems and controls, a successful exploit of the vulnerability could increase your risks while accessing our online banking services. It is therefore prudent that you follow the recommendations to reduce the risk while conducting online banking and other important online tasks. As always, you should also exercise caution when visiting websites, and avoid clicking suspicious links or opening email messages from unfamiliar senders.
